Iron Man 2 is a 2010 superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. It is a sequel to Iron Man, the third instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the third installment of Phase One. The film was released on April 28, 2010 internationally and on May 7, 2010 in the United States. Directed by Jon Favreau, who also reprises his role as Happy Hogan, the film stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrowreturning as Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson as Ivan Vanko and Natasha Romanoff, and Don Cheadle, who replaces Terrence Howard as Lt. Colonel James Rhodes.

Synopsis

With the world now aware that he is Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) faces pressure from all sides to share his technology with the military. He is reluctant to divulge the secrets of his armored suit, fearing the information will fall into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) by his side, Tony must forge new alliances and confront a powerful new enemy.
